Unheralded gospel musician Alpha Nhambure whose stage name is Makoti has released her third album titled “Vanondigarira Dare”. The gospel diva engaged the services of two producers Charles Ayibeki and Tatenda Makumbe on the album. Songs on the album are “Vanotigarira Dare”, “Zvinoda Munyengetero”, “Mufaro Wangu featuring gospel artist Gift Mahlupheko, “Handina Nyadzi”, “Kushandira Jesu”, “I Surrender”, “Makatendeka” and “Ndiratidzei Nzira”.Makoti said she took her time to come up with the musical project which inspires Christians.
“This is a reflection of how Christian life is like. We all make mistakes but at the end of the day we try to abide by the biblical laws,” she said.
She is happy with the response she is getting from people.
“It is encouraging to get positive feedback from the fans.
“My biggest prayer is that we should do justice to gospel music,” said Makoti.
She has already assembled a live band that will soon begin performances.
“I have not done any live performances on the previous albums but the response of this one encouraged me to have a band. We will start live shows next month,” she said.
Videos of the album are already underway and would be launched soon.
“Videos help people to understand the songs and the meaning,” she said.
She hopes to work with several gospel musicians in her coming projects.
“We have established gospel musicians like Baba na Mai Charamba, Blessing Shumba, Mechanic Manyeruke among others and plans are there to have joint works in the future,” Makoti added.
She only managed to engage Gift Mahlupheko on the new album.
“I have worked with him before and it was easy for us to come up with a song.
“Plans are that we engage him as my manager,” she said.
