ZIMBABWE’S property scene has just been rocked by a bold new move which is bringing hope to thousands of Zimbabweans in the Diaspora who have long dreamed of owning property back home.
Grateful Events, represented by celebrated gospel artist and brand ambassador Eleana Makombe, has teamed up with Southland and Property X to launch The Grove, a residential estate designed to break down the financial barriers that have kept many locked out of the property market. For years, the biggest stumbling block has been the demand for full upfront cash payments a requirement that has made it nearly impossible for many Diaspora-based Zimbabweans to invest back home.
But The Grove is rewriting that script.Through flexible instalment plans and other incentives, the development is making it easier for investors to secure property without the burden of paying everything at once.
It’s a shift that is already generating excitement across borders.
Songstress Eleana Makombe said the initiative speaks directly to a cause she has long championed.
“I have always advocated for inclusivity, especially for Zimbabweans in the Diaspora who want to remain connected to home through meaningful investments,” she said.
“This project is important because it provides real, practical solutions to challenges people have faced for years. It’s about opening doors.”
She believes the involvement of Property X adds a powerful dimension to the project.
“Having Property X as part of this initiative is a complete game changer. It’s no longer just about buying a stand or a house outright. People can now participate in property investment through shares, which creates opportunities for many who previously felt excluded,” she said.
The share-based investment model is expected to widen access even further, allowing Zimbabweans to tap into the property market in a more flexible and affordable way — a move that reflects changing global trends in real estate investment.
Behind the partnership is a calculated strategy by Southland, which is positioning itself at the forefront of innovation in Zimbabwe’s property sector.
Southland partner, Success Kanjoma, says bringing in Eleana Makombe and Grateful Events was a deliberate move aimed at strengthening the project’s reach and impact.
“Partnering with a brand ambassador like Eleana Makombe is a powerful strategic decision, particularly in markets where visibility, trust and lifestyle appeal play a critical role in driving investment,” said Kanjoma.
“This collaboration allows us to connect with people in a more meaningful and relatable way.” He highlighted that the partnership goes beyond marketing, touching on deeper values that define the company’s vision.
“It enhances brand visibility, builds credibility, fosters trust and strengthens relationship marketing, which is essential in property investment,” he said.
“But more importantly, Eleana aligns with our values. Our purpose is to demonstrate God’s manifold wisdom through creativity and innovation, and she represents that very well.”
