Got Personality wins Republican Cup

during the running of The Republic Cup at Borrowdale race course on Sunday.
With jockey Donovan Mansour holding the irons, the filly from Peter Moor’s stud beat Captain’s Tiger into second place by three-quarter lens in the 1 900m sprint.

Got Personality stopped the clock in 1 minute 52,30 seconds to take the US$30 000 at stake in the race worth US$50 000.
Trainer Kirk Swanson saddled Captain’s Tiger with rider Sherman Brown who were 4,50 lens ahead of third-placed Eight Street.

Imperial Dice came fourth while Airwolf was fifth out the 11 runners that went to the starting stalls.
The Republic Cup, whose proceeds got to charity was the feature race on the day with eight races on the card.

With competitive racing throughout the day, Lisa Harris racing notched up three winners – Turandot, Epic Style and Dream Africa all ridden by Randall Simons. The Swanson yard equalled that feat as they saddled up Matlock River (Quinton Riddle), Al Kahtan and Briefcase Bill both ridden by Brown.

The other trainer to get in the winner’s box was Gail Odendaal who saddled up the fine two year old Smoulder to victory under a good ride from Kevin Derere.
With some difficult results on the day the Place Accumulator paid a massive US$682.60 and the Pick Six resulted in only six percent of US$29 855 being won.

Racing returns to the same venue on July 30 with the running of the TBA Champagne Stakes over 1 200m
