The Government of Zimbabwe intends to send more teachers to Rwanda under the Educational Personnel and Expertise bilateral arrangement between the two countries.

The Joint Parliamentary Portfolio Committees on Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Primary and Secondary Education met at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden on Tuesday to deliberate on the agreement on the Exchange of Educational Personnel and Expertise.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Mr Simon Masanga said the joint technical committee of Zimbabwe conducted a monitoring visit for the experts in Rwanda from May 12 to 18, 2024

“The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the working conditions and getting firsthand information from the experts,” he said.

“The delegation visited all teacher training colleges where the Zimbabwean experts are deployed.

“After visiting all the colleges, the delegation concluded that the government of Rwanda is impressed by the conduct and performance of duty by educational experts seconded from Zimbabwe.”

Mr Masanga said there were no adverse reports raised against Zimbabwean teachers.
