THE Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has entered into a public-private partnership with a local company in a bid to build more schools without increasing the burden on Government for resources.

Through a scheme called Easy Build, Government has partnered with Barmlo Construction to help school development committees build facilities through flexible payment terms.

Speaking during the launch Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Torerai Moyo said: “This scheme aligns well with the Vision 2030 which aims to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy.

“This can be achieved by investing in education infrastructure.

“The Government is laying the foundation for a skilled workforce, innovation and entrepreneurship, all of which are critical for achieving sustainable economic growth and development.”

Barmlo Construction managing director Dr Banabasi Marambire said: “Education is the cornerstone of progress, and it is our responsibility to ensure that every child has access to a high-quality adequate infrastructure which has remained a significant hurdle for many schools, especially those in disadvantaged areas.

“We have developed a solution that will enable schools to build their facilities with zero deposit and are also committed to understanding the needs of our clients, solving problems, and superior services for the benefit of all parties.

“We use an environmentally friendly approach through innovative design and methods to deliver the client’s imagination and desire to create.”
