Govt calls for input on new mineral policy

In a statement, the ministry said stakeholders had been invited to participate and input into the policy. The workshops run from today until May 22 starting in Harare moving to Kadoma, Gweru, Bulawayo, Masvingo and Mutare. The ministry has since produced a draft policy which the consultative workshops seek to add or subtract contents.

Cabinet is expected to approve the policy to pave way for its implementation by mining companies.
Meanwhile, the Government is also formulating the Diamond Policy as well as finalising amendments to the Mines and Minerals Act. — New Ziana.
