Mic Inity rocks fans at Coca-Cola Stage

Mic Inity, real name Mike Madamombe, was joined on stage by a member of Baaba Maal’s band and serenaded revellers with an amazing delivery of cover versions of top Jamaican artistes.

The show marked the launch of “Coca-Cola Go Crazy for Good” campaign and spiced by a stand-out performance by top South African group Mi Casa as well as Ammara Brown.
Guests also had time to mingle with Baaba Maal and Mi Casa backstage. Also present was Tourism and

Hospitality Minister Walter Mzembi as well as Zimbabwean-born international rugby player Tendai Mutawarira.

“Last year Coca-Cola brought you ‘A Billion Reasons to Believe in Africa” which Zimbabwe’s first Cultural Leadership campaign and first pan-African campaign. It provided brand Coca-Cola a unique opportunity to have a clear point of view on the future of the continent. We are sure about one thing — we need to continue to build on this positivity where we inspired Africans and the world about the good in Africa.

“We need to continue to tap into the cultural tensions that make us uniquely African. We now need to proactively spread optimism and celebrate the people who spread the optimism. We all need to ‘Go Crazy for Good’,” said Mona Karingi, Coca-Cola senior franchise brand manager.

“Crazy for Good is all about being kind to one another, it’s all about doing acts of kindness and      spreading the kindness to all mankind however small, it’s all about inspiring each other and consumers to go out into the world and spread their own brand of craziness for good as they open happiness with a Coca-Cola.”

“Because . . . If the world thinks acting on kindness/doing good is crazy then Africa is the craziest continent on the planet and Zimbabwe is the craziest country on the planet.

“And what better place to all begin to ‘Go Crazy for Good’ than at Hifa where Coca-Cola has enjoyed a longstanding relationship through our sponsorship of the Hifa event for many years now. This sponsorship was mooted with the aim of developing arts in Zimbabwe and will continue to do so in the years to come. Indeed, we have achieved this with the emergence of many artistes in the country and in Africa.

“Let’s enjoy the ‘Crazy for Good’ moment, the special time and make the person next to us smile! I am certain that it is the wish of every one of us here that this event will not only be successful this year but in the years to come,” Karingi said.
