Provincial Hospital.
Council has also undertaken to mobilise both financial and material resources for the construction of the hospital. Masvingo Mayor Alderman Femius Chakabuda said after donating the land, his council was now waiting for work to resume.
“We donated 20 hectares of land to Government through the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare after indications that there was no money to buy it.
“We got interested in the project because it will generally improve the health delivery system for residents of Masvingo city and the entire province. We have also undertaken to mobilise for both financial and material resources once actual work resumes,’’ he said. Masvingo provincial medical director Dr Robert Mudyiradima said work on the new hospital had not resumed owing to a lack of funds.
Dr Mudyiradima said Government froze the construction of new building projects until the on-going ones were completed due to limited financial support.
