THE Second Republic has adopted a robust plan to develop the economy through embracing innovation, inclusivity and collaboration between Government and the private sector, Vice President Kembo Mohadi has said.

He highlighted the ongoing development of Beitbridge Border Post as a prime example of success of this collaborative approach.

VP Mohadi made the remarks while officially opening the Beitbridge Business Summit held in the border town on Friday evening.

The event was organised by the Sundrive Coalition.

“The Second Dispensation has embraced the mantra of building Zimbabwe brick by brick.

“We are, therefore, dedicated to fostering sustainable growth through innovative solutions, collaborative efforts and inclusivity policies,” he said.

“The Beitbridge Border Post is a shining example of what can be achieved through collaboration and innovation.

“The improvements in infrastructure and services are a result of combined efforts by the Government, private sector and local communities.

“These efforts have not only enhanced the efficiency of trade but have also created jobs and improved living standards for people in the region.

“It is a microcosm of what we aim to achieve on the national scale.”

The Beitbridge Border Post, Vice President Mohadi said, was a crucial hub for trade and economic activity.

“The progress witnessed today is testament to the commitment of our people to the development of Zimbabwe,” he added.

The achievement of Vision 2030, he said, was a national mission that calls for the active participation of every Zimbabwean.

VP Mohadi also said business summits bring together leaders from various sectors, creating a platform for dialogue, exchange of ideas and partnerships.

He said such discussions had the potential to shape the future of the nation, inform policies, inspire initiatives and drive actions that will take the Government closer to its goals.

“Captains of industry and commerce, your contributions are indispensable to the success of our national development agenda,” he continued.

“This summit, with its emphasis on innovation, collaboration and inclusivity, encapsulates the spirit of our national endeavour.

“Innovation is the driving force of modern economies.

“It is through innovative practices that we can unlock new opportunities, create jobs and improve the quality of life for our citizens.

“Collaboration, on the other hand, is the cornerstone of sustainable development, as no single entity, whether it be the Government, private sector or civil society, can achieve the ambitious goals of Vision 2030 in isolation.”

He said the Government had also adopted a culture of inclusivity when implementing most of its programmes.

“The youth, in particular, have a critical role to play in this journey.

“They are the future leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs of Zimbabwe,” he said.

“Their energy, creativity and passion are invaluable assets to our nation.

“I urge you (youth) to seize opportunities presented by these summits, learn to network and contribute to the development of Zimbabwe.

“Your participation and leadership are essential for the realisation of Vision 2030.”

Matabeleland Minister of State for Matabeleland Provincial Affairs and Devolution Dr Evelyn Ndlovu said it was imperative to recognise the pivotal role of the business summit in aligning Zimbabwe’s efforts with Vision 2030.

The event was attended by captains of industry and commerce, as well as business analysts.
