Govt sets 2019 judicial calendar

Government has set dates for next year’s sitting and vacation of the Constitutional, High, Administrative and Labour courts.

In a notice published in the Government gazette last Friday, Government said the first term of the ConCourt would run from January 14 to April 6, with the second term beginning May 13 and ending on September 8. The last term runs from September 9 to November 29.
The first circuit of the High Court will sit in Gweru from January 29 to February 8, with the Hwange High Court circuit extending from March 4 to March 15.
The second circuit opens on May 20 and closes on May 31 in Gweru; while the dates for Hwange are July 1 to July 12. The Third circuit covers September 23 to October 4 in Gweru and from November 14 to November 15 in Hwange.
The Labour Court circuit sessions in Mutare are January 21-February 1May 27-June 7 and September 16-27; while in Hwange the Labour Court will sit on February 18-March 1June 17-28, and October 7-18.
In Masvingo, the Labour Court sits from March 11 to 22, July 8 to 19 and November 11 to November 22.
