THE 2013 Grade Seven national examination results are out with a pass rate of 32,2 percent compared to last year’s 31,5 percent.
Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) director Esau Nhandara announced in a statement yesterday that candidates who sat for the examination can start collecting the results from their respective centres today.
“The 2013 Grade Seven results have been released. Candidates who sat for this examination should collect their results from their respective centres starting tomorrow, 4 December 2013,” Nhandara said.
“Zimsec regional managers have been urged to facilitate the smooth collection of the results.”
Nhandara said a slight improvement of 0,7 percent was recorded in this year’s national pass rate compared to last year.
“The Grade Seven national pass rate, namely candidates who passed four subjects at Grade Six or better for 2013 is 32 percent.
“In 2011, the pass rate was 28,89 percent and in 2012 the pass rate was 31,5 percent, which shows an improvement in pupils’ performance over the past three years,” he said.
Nhandara paid tribute to Zimsec management, staff and board as well as the markers for their commitment during the marking process.
