AN abusive 68-year-old Entumbane man was yesterday sued for maintenance by his 62-year-old wife who said in court that he is very abusive. Josiah Chipango, a pensioner earning $60 a month, was dragged to the Maintenance Court by Melisa Chipango who said he has a habit of beating her up.
Melisa who said at one time Chipango allegedly strangled her until she blacked out, was recently granted a protection order.
She was demanding $185 in maintenance saying Chipango never supports her or show her his pay slip.
Magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure ordered Chipango to pay Melisa $30 every month from the $60 he is paid monthly as pension until she dies or remarries.
