Gunman grabs US$71K in Beitbridge heist!, Dulibadzimu delivery turns into daylight robbery drama

B-Metro Reporter

A ROUTINE cash delivery mission turned into a Hollywood-style heist when a 34-year-old man was ambushed and robbed of a jaw-dropping US$71 120 in Dulibadzimu, Beitbridge.

The police have launched a full-scale manhunt following the daring robbery that took place on 6 April 2025 — leaving locals shaken and a major company out of pocket.

According to police, the victim was enroute to deliver company money to an agent in Harare when an unidentified gunman pounced.

“The suspect, who was armed with a pistol, fired one shot while demanding the cash,” confirmed the ZRP in a statement.

Fearing for his life, the victim quickly handed over a bag stuffed with over seventy-one thousand US dollars — and the suspect vanished without a trace.

No injuries were reported, but the brazen nature of the attack has triggered alarm bells in the usually bustling border town.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.

Stay alert, Beitbridge — a dangerous criminal could be hiding in plain sight!
