KEZI businessman Tapson Ncube who was gunned down at his residence at Maphisa Growth Point early Tuesday morning by as yet to be identified assailants was yesterday buried at his homestead at Mbuso Village.

Mbuso Village is about 10 kilometres from Maphisa Growth Point.

The burial was conducted in accordance to Family of God Church rites, which were presided over by Reverend Erasmus Wutawunashe.

Family members, Members of Parliament from Matabeleland South, Government officials, youths and locals attended the emotion-filled burial as people are still trying to come to terms with the circumstances surrounding Ncube’s death.

Matobo North Member of Parliament Cde Edgar Moyo who is also the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education described Ncube as a great man who had the passion for developing his home area.

“Ncube was a great man because even after he lost the primary elections to me, he was not bitter, instead he assisted me in many different ways to improve our area. He also contributed immensely to the growth of the community as he helped equip young people.

“We worked very well together and for this may his soul rest in peace,” said Cde Moyo.

Cde Moyo and Ncube contested in the Zanu-PF primary elections to represent the party during last year’s harmonised elections.

Ncube was on Tuesday early morning shot dead in his home in Maphisa.

Ncube, who had business interests in mining, transport, retail and also sponsored Division One soccer outfit The Venue, died on the spot following a shoot-out with unknown gunmen.

His killers took nothing from the house and left Ncube’s wife terrified wife cowering in a bathroom as they melted into the night.
