GUNNERS emerged as the biggest winners in the Northern Region Division One Soccer League over the weekend when they beat struggling DC Academy 4-1 at Motor Action.
Edmore Sibanda was the first to score for Gunners in the first half with Quality Kangazi, Freddy Munyoro and Carlos Mavhurume adding a goal each.
DC Academy got their consolation goal from Malvin Hwata.
Gunners coach, Darlington Dodo, hailed his players.
“Our approach was very positive from the word go, we were all over them and we were the better team on Saturday.
“We had a very positive attitude, very good on the way we interacted on the pitch and application.
“Actually I am happy with that result and I think it shows we did our homework during the window period in terms of recruitment.
“Our strikers were not sharp in the first half of the season but the coming in of some new guys brought a certain dimension and we are starting to get goals,” said Dodo. Dodo said they will keep on working hard.
Meanwhile, high-flying Ngezi Platinum are proving to be difficult to beat as they continued with their unbeaten run on Saturday when they dismissed Seven Flames 2-0 at Commando.
