Guruve Rural District Council has proposed a $1,5 million standstill budget for the year 2018 to ease the burden on residents. In an interview yesterday, chief executive Mr Tinos Marisa said the council had proposed a static budget in consideration of the economic situation in the country. “Our performance for this year so far has not reached 100 percent and as a council we realised that it is feasible to maintain a static budget,” hesaid.
On Monday, Mr Marisa issued a statement saying the local authority was proposing to fix rates for next year. “Guruve RDC proposes to fix rates or tariffs for the financial year beginning January 1 to December 31, 2018,” he said.
Mr Muriswa said residents and stakeholders who wished to lodge their objectionss were supposed to do so by mid-December. “The proposed tariffs are available for inspection at Shinje Council offices during working hours,” he said.
“The rates are also available at Guruve Growth Point, bus levy offices, District Administrator’s offices and ward councillors.”
