Guspy hails SA fans

“It is encouraging when we receive such positive feedback from Maffia 19 fans from foreign lands. I was especially flattered that most of them were actually familiar with my songs from the old to the recent albums. The entire two-hour performance was a thrill with fans singing along from the first to the last song,” he said.

“The Preacher’s Son”, as he is affectionately known in music, is currently enjoying the success of his latest offering “Handikwanise Kuzvitaura”.

The “No Way” singer arrived at the weekend accompanied by urban grooves artiste Trevor Dongo from the show that was organised by Zimbabwean promoters based in Cape Town called Mambo Promos.

“I am definitely going back for more gigs because our people there are starved of our music. I am in the process of arranging shows in Johannesburg, Durban as well as other cities in South Africa. I will also be spreading the Maffia love in the United Kingdom along with Jah Prayzah for a show slated for May 4,” he said.

Guspy Warrior, who is working on follow- up videos to his current album, has attracted the attention of local and international artistes. He also disclosed plans of collaborations with top Jamaican artiste Capleton and Jah Thunder.

“Handikwanise Kuzvitaura is the most successful of all my five albums and its success continues to grow since its launch  three months ago.”

Guspy stages dancehall clashes every Friday at Chitungwiza’s Manyame Complex dubbed “Maffia Fridays”. The shows feature top dancehall artistes and DJs based in different parts of Zimbabwe. Freeman, Sniper, Fire Links DJs and Zim dancehall godfather, Templeman among others.
