GUSPY Warrior hailed fans for their support during his well-attended 33rd birthday bash held in Chitungwiza last Friday.
The singer, who packed the Aquatic Complex on Good Friday, also praised the fans for their good conduct.
Zim dancehall shows are usually marred by violence but this was not the case at Guspy Warrior’s show.
The preacher’s son, as Guspy Warrior is fondly known, shared the stage with Bazooker, Pumacol, Hwinza, Lady Squanda, Prosper Fi Real Music, Maskiri, Maggikal, Godfatha Templeman, MC Banso, Elder Tifta Kay, MC Nash Master, Sniper, Mockery, Kabhidha, Dhadza D, among others.
He shared his gratitude on Facebook where he hailed fans and fellow musicians for their support.
“Chitungwiza, thank you very much ne support yamakandipa nezuro (Good Friday), maghetto yuts aiwa rambai makadaro makadadisa mhani, zero violence, not even one beer can rakambokandwa pa stage, kucrowd hakuna kana one fight zvayo maingozvifarira sekufara kwandakaitawo nekuuya kuzondiSupporter kwamaive maita,” reads part of his post.
Guspy Warrior, son of veteran gospel artist Baba Machanic Manyeruke, said he was nervous when he learnt that Alick Macheso was performing at Tanza Nite Club, on the same evening.
“I was a bit nervous when I heard that Macheso was performing at Club Tanza.
“I was humbled by your support as you showed up in numbers.
“You made me happy and proud of you,” he said.
He also hailed artists who showed up and performed at his birthday bash.
As part of his social responsibility, he vowed to use his influence and step up his campaign against drug and substance abuse.
Guspy Warrior launched his campaign on Good Friday, which he code-named ‘Stay Away from Drugs.’
“As an artist, when I have such a big platform like this (his bash) I have to stand and raise awareness.“Drugs have destroyed our youth and society at large.
“I’m sure a number of people, if not everyone, knows about the damage drugs can cause.
“However, that does not mean we should stop to raise awareness, I will continue till amen.”Every other artist who performs at my shows is also in support of this, it’s the least we can do,” he said.
