A HARARE woman says her former husband is like a baby-making machine.
She said this at the Civil Court where she was seeking a garnishment of maintenance from her ex-husband’s salary.
Talent Tambandimi hauled her former husband, identified only as Sibanda, who is a prison officer, to court.
The court heard that he had been defaulting payments and has been issued with several warrants of arrest.
She accused him of always impregnating women.
“l don’t care that he has a loan, does it mean that my kids have to suffer because of him?
“When we came here, he threatened that my kids and l would suffer.
“He will only fend for his new family by taking loans.
“They are living a luxurious life and have another new baby, it’s like the two have a baby project because his wife is always pregnant.”
In his defence Sibanda said:
“Due to a loan which l took, l am earning $40 000 and US$83 which is barely enough for me to pay maintenance of $60 000 plus US$30 and take care of my other family.
“Your Worship, if possible, l would like the garnish to start in November after l have settled all my debts,” he said.
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Talent’s application.
