SHOPPERS at a busy supermarket in Mahatshula suburb went panicky after a blood-curdling scene unfolded before their eyes!

A man was stabbed in the stomach, leaving his intestines hanging out in full view.
The victim, Thabo Ncube of Mahatshula, reportedly ran into the supermarket on Saturday afternoon trying to escape three unidentified men believed to be artisanal miners. Eyewitnesses say Thabo dashed through the entrance gasping for help, with the trio hot on his heels.

“He tried to hide behind the parcel counter but they dragged him out like a sack of mealie-meal,” said a traumatised shopper. “One of them pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the belly. His intestines popped out and he let out a horrifying scream.”

As Thabo collapsed in agony, the three attackers fled the scene, vanishing before anyone could stop them. Pandemonium rippled through the store as customers watched in shock, some screaming, others frozen.

An ambulance was called and Thabo was rushed to hospital, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit fighting for his life.

Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident.
“We can confirm that a Mahatshula man was stabbed in the stomach by one of three suspects who are currently on the run. We strongly discourage members of the public from resorting to violence and taking the law into their own hands,” said Inspector Msebele.

Police have since launched a manhunt and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
“Anyone who may know the whereabouts of the suspects is urged to report to the nearest police station,” she said.
The motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear.
