THE city of Gweru will come alive this weekend as a series of shows has been lined up for the Midlands Agricultural Show. Zim dancehall enthusiasts will have a rare treat as top artistes, Winky D, Souljah Love “Chibaba”, Killer T the “Chairman”, Legion affectionately known as “Rigiyani” and Mambo Lodza will be in the city for a show at KwaMusopero on Saturday.

Man-of-the-moment Jah Prayzah will also be making his way to the city on Sunday as he is billed to perform at the Gweru showgrounds as part of the Midlands Agricultural Show festivities.

Gospel music lovers have not been left out as Baba naMai Charamba will entertain them at a family show taking place at Midlands Hotel on Saturday.

Top music promoter — Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza who organised the KwaMusopero show promised music lovers a five-star show.

“I know that Souljah Love hasn’t performed in Gweru in a very long time as some of the promoters have failed to bring him to the City of Progress. I promise Gweru music lovers a weekend that they’ll never forget,” Chipaz said.

He advised Souljah Love’s fans that the artiste had not double-booked.

“I know that Souljah love has another show in Harare. He’ll show up for the Gweru show as scheduled and proceed to Harare for another show,” Chipaz said.

Mike Zengeya who is organising Baba naMai Charamba’s show assured the couple’s fans that they will get real value for their money.

“The Charambas are seasoned gospel artistes and I’ve no doubt that they’ll put up a superb performance at Midlands Hotel,” he said.
