FANS are all in agreement after Erling Haaland’s horror show against Liverpool in the Community Shield on Saturday.
The Norwegian ace, 22, made his debut following his £51million move from Borussia Dortmund.
The champions fell to a 3-1 defeat to the Reds at the King Power Stadium and were off the pace throughout.
Haaland was also off the boil, in what was a difficult day for the star signing.
And his misery was compounded in injury time when he missed a glaring sitter.
Reacting to a fumble from Adrian in the Liverpool goal, Haaland smashed the ball off the top of the cross bar from just SIX YARDS out and with the goal gaping.
The miss was met by sarcastic cheers from Liverpool fans, as an embarrassed Haaland walked away with a wry smile on his face.
And the deafening noise inside the stadium was matched by the fans’ reaction online – with many ridiculing the forward.
“Nahhhhh man how did Haaland miss from here,” WolfRMFC wrote.
J.lingz was equally as unforgiving. “Haaland what a miss he wrote,” with a series of laughing emojis.
Haaland’s lacklustre display couldn’t have come at a worst time when comparisons between him and Liverpool’s £85million signing Darwin Nunez were made before the match.
The Uruguayan striker appeared as a second half substitute and immediately looked dangerous.
He not only won a penalty but completed his debut with a goal to cap off a promising run out for his new club. – Daily Star
