THEY are calling themselves the ‘‘Friends of Godfather.’’

And, tomorrow they will, in conjunction with Habhana Lounge, host a special event.

“All that we are doing is honour a friend whose story has captured the imagination of our country,” said spokesman Obert Masvotore.

“We are ‘Friends of the Godfather,’ and in the week of love we are extending some love to him on Saturday night at Habhana Lounge.

“We have been planning since last year that we should celebrate Robson Sharuko’s lifelong service to journalism and we have found the right week.

“We are just celebrating one of our own because if we don’t do that then no one will.”

Event coordinator and socialite, Wanisayi “Mahwindo” Mutandwa said it was an honour for them to host the event.

‘‘It’s a privilege for us as Habhana Lounge to be associated with him on this special occasion.

“He has been in the game for a long time and deserves to be honoured.

“Delta honoured him two months ago and we are just doing our little part.

“It’s a unique event for us but we are ready to host it and we are confident, given his wide network, everything will go on well.”
