TEENAGE Hadebe says he is happy to have been named man-of-the -match in the Texas Derby on Sunday.
Hadebe’s performance helped his team, Houston Dynamo, secure a point against FC Dallas.
The Warriors star played the entire MLS game and scored a last-gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
Hadebe mopped home a rebound after the keeper parried the ball into the defender’s path.
“I felt so happy scoring and excited for the team because they’re the ones who have been driving me to do better as a player.
“I think every time you score a goal, it feels amazing and it’s more for the team.
“I think you saw how excited and happy I was when I scored that goal.
“I was so happy that I managed to help my team secure the crucial point.
“Goals become more meaningful when they help win games or help you secure a draw, in the last minute, like that one and overall I was happy,” he said.
The goal is Hadebe’s second this season after netting earlier in the campaign.
“Yeah I’ve been trying so hard to do my best for my team and help in any way I can.
“Because at the end of the day we are not only playing for a club but representing the country as well.
“I want to make sure I raise the country’s flag high and put it on the map in this league.
“It’s all about making history, and working hard, to make my people back home proud,” he said.
FC Dallas’ Eddie Munjoma was an unused substitute in the game.
The 23-year-old is having limited game time after featuring in four games across all competitions this season.
