PRODUCER and songwriter, Darlington Chikwewo, is living his dream.
He recently signed a contract with South African label Next Music, which will release his music, market and distribute it internationally.
The South Africa-based versatile artist also established his own label, Wewo Music.
Better known as Young DLC, the entertainer worked with top Zimbabwean artist Jah Prayzah on hit songs Porovhoka and Svovi.
In an interview with H-Metro, Young DLC said he was elated with this achievement.
“I am excited and energised by this deal with Next Music.
“I am looking forward to releasing music with an international focus.
“I think it’s most artists’ ambitions to move into different regions.
“To me it represents growth,” he said.
The Hatfield-bred artist revealed that he was determined and focused in his career.
“I’m going to continue putting my best foot forward, in all my endeavours.
“For me the journey is a movie so I enjoy the whole process,” said Young DLC.
“I have been working with some of the biggest acts in the world, via the Coke Studio, and other productions.
“There is always something more to aspire for and that always keeps me grounded and driven to push the limits.”
Through Coke Studio Africa, Young DLC worked with top African artists like Patoranking, Olamide, AKA, Shekinah, Yemi Alade, among others.
This year, Young DLC collaborated on an EP with Bryan K, on two songs, which made it to the Zim radio charts.
He also collaborated with rapper Ti Gonzi on a project titled Mufaro.
