HAIR salons are always busy with women trying to enhance their beauty. Women enjoy changing up their hair and looking beautiful. I would describe hair as an accessory because you can wear it, remove it, or switch it up as you please. When it comes to hair trends Zimbabwean women catch on quickly, this is because of talented hairdressers and each person wants to have the best look.

Just like clothes and shoes, hair trends are constantly evolving. At some point the Afro was in, then it went out of fashion. When the Afro came back after a few years it had changed. Women should take note of the changes in hairstyles. It’s okay to have your trademark look, but change it up every once in a while. Hair is amazing because you can look different by either having short, long, big or curly hair.

The Brazillian weave!!!!
This weave has been making waves in Zimbabwe since late 2013. When the Brazillian weave hit the market, only a few could afford it because it is expensive. The texture is on point, it is silky soft. Eventually fake Brazillian weaves started trickling into the market to cater for the masses. Since it has been made affordable you would think people would get the required four-five bunches. However, some improvise with one bunch which is unflattering as it ends up looking flat. With the right length and volume the Brazillian weave is beautiful. Those who keep up with hair trends have upgraded to Peruvian and Cambodian hair. Some have opted for the lace wig, which is glam and looks like a weave.

When choosing a hairstyle make sure you can afford it and it suits you well. There is so much you can do with your hair. If you are not into weaves you can plait box braids. Braids are always in fashion, it just depends on how you style them. Hair trends have moved on from thin twist braids to much thicker ones. The bob braid is another hot trend which has been on the streets among all age groups. Braids are always a good choice because they are affordable, last longer and are easy to maintain.

The bold have resorted to the UNDERCUT and/or dyeing hair. The undercut is the one trend which has had staying power over the past three years. The undercut is tricky because it has to suit the shape of your face and your head and neck should be smooth — it also requires regular maintenance. The men are pulling it off well because they are the originators of the undercut.

If you are to dye your hair make sure the hair colour suits your skin tone. Blonde and red usually look better on light skinned people. While others worry about the latest trends, some women just rock their natural hair. They either comb it or style it. When choosing a hairdo choose an age appropriate one. When teenagers put on certain weaves it makes them look older. If you want to achieve young look you can go for the goddess French braid. The goddess French braid is a perfect hairdo for all ages. It is neat and affordable. The goddess French braid is a new trend and people seem to be warming up to it very well, a lot of people are trying it out.

Ask for advice from friends or family if you are unsure of a hairstyle. Remember hair enhances your beauty. There is no excuse for a bad hairdo because there is a variety to choose from. You can go natural, have a long weave, goddess French braid or whatever you like. Have fun with your hair, change it up every two months or so. Wash your hair regularly, keep it fresh and healthy. The 4 hairdos’ people should give a rest are; the jell up, the set, carrot and Daniella weave (you can choose any other synthetic weave). Get your hair game on fleek.!!!
