Hairstylists to compete for honours

In an interview last week, coordinator of the competition Patrick Madanga said the competition would be held on 27 November and the deadline for entries was end of this month.

He said the theme would be “A presentation of the respective skills of local stylists”.

“This is a hair show that will showcase the skills of hairstylists in the art of dressing hair, as they create unique styles,” said Madanga.

He said the competition was open to every hairstylist in the city and this would be a chance for them to mingle and expose their talents.

“The main purpose of this project is for hairstylists to mingle and exchange their skills in a motivational atmosphere. As organisers, we are looking forward to a big entertaining event and we expect many stylists to enter this memorable hair  extravaganza,” said Madanga.

He said the hairstylists would compete in three categories namely Men’s Hairstylist’s Award, Dreadlocks/Natural Hair Award and Hairstylists’ Award.

“The first award is open to all who do men’s grooming to showcase their neatness and creativity in this field. The second is open to all who can twist natural locks and be able to create an award winning style. The third is open to all hairdressers who can turn heads.

The awards will be categorised under three sections, Day style, Evening Style and Avante Garde,” said Madanga.
