SCOTTLAND take a deserved lead into the break after dominating much of the first half against a sluggish Chicken Inn side.
The visitors started brightly, winning three corner kicks inside the opening exchanges as they pressed high and controlled possession. Chicken Inn struggled to settle early on, with Scottland FC comfortably building from the back and dictating the tempo.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 22nd minute when veteran forward Knowledge Musona calmly slotted home after a neat cut-back from Moses Shidolo to give Scottland FC the lead.
Scottland FC continued to threaten and could easily have gone further ahead were it not for Chicken Inn goalkeeper Taimon Mvula, who produced two excellent saves in quick succession.
First, in the 27th minute, Mvula reacted brilliantly to deny Panashe Mutimbanyoka after the striker had been picked out by Khama Billiat. Six minutes later, the goalkeeper was at it again, tipping Musona’s curling effort over the bar for a corner kick.
Chicken Inn will need a much-improved second-half performance if they are to find a way back into the match.
