METHEMBE Tshuma arrived from Ghana where he had remained to undergo surgery to correct his broken femur bone sustained in the 200m semi finals of the African Senior Championships in Accra, Ghana last week.
Tshuma stayed behind with Christine Mutangadura, the Zimbabwe team’s physiotherapist to go under the surgeon’s knife when the rest of the team returned on Tuesday.
He arrived at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport accompanied by Mutangadura and were met the Bulawayo Metropolitan Deputy Director in the Ministry of Sports Isaiah Mpofu, Manuel Mpofu the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe director of competitions and national team coach Phakamile Lisimati.
Mutangadura said she was impressed with the way Tshuma had responded to rehabilitation after surgery.
Lisimati said he wishes his sprinter speedy recovery.
Tshuma has been a revelation this year with an impressive 10.22 seconds in the 100m and 20.26 in the 200m.
