adminSchool in Harare, has seen 45 schoolteachers turning up in a follow up of last year’s Level One programme which was held at the same school and was conducted by Kabamba.
Last year in May, 63 aspiring handball referees took part in the Level One course and received certificates at the completion of the programme and this year they are expected to further their knowledge in the sport during the Level Two course under the guidance of Kabamba, a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kabamba expressed satisfaction with the way the first day progressed yesterday and said the course is good for the development of the sport in this country.
“Our idea is to equip school-teachers with basic knowledge on how to handle a handball match and what some signs and signals entail during a match.
“The Level Two referees course is a follow-up to the Level One we did last year and I am happy with the turnout.
“This programme has come at the right time as it will empower the referees ahead of the NASH competitions to be held this year in July,” Kabamba said.
Kabamba also encouraged the course participants to improve the standard of handball in this country and praised them for the interest they have shown in the sport after yesterday’s session.
