Handball teams off to Zambia

THE Under-18 and Under-20 men’s teams left the country on Monday morning for Zambia ahead of the International Handball Federation Zone VI Trophy that gets underway on Tuesday in Lusaka.

The tournament is running until Saturday with eight countries – Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia – participating.

The eight teams were divided into two groups of four for each age group.

In the Under-18, Zimbabwe were drawn in Group B alongside South Africa, Malawi and Eswatini.

Group A is made up of defending champions Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Namibia.

In the Under-20, Zimbabwe who are the title holders will face Lesotho, South Africa and Namibia in Group A.

Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi and Eswatini make up Group B.

Zimbabwe’s Under-18 begin their campaign against Malawi on Tuesday while in the Under-20 category they take on South Africa in their opening game.
