Harare Agriculture Show preps advanced

stands.
Over 750 stands have been acquired for the premier annual agricultural show billed to start from August 19 to August 27.

It will be held under the theme; “Celebrating agricultural growth and promoting green business.” Zimbabwe Agricultural Society marketing and public relations manager, Mrs Sibonginkosi Muteyiwa, on Wednesday said more exhibitors were expected this year.

“So far we have more than 750 stands that have already been taken when only 500 companies had confirmed their participation at the same period last year. Our theme this year emphasises the need for the nation to be environmentally conscious. We want organisations to be responsible in terms of the environment,” she said.

Mrs Muteyiwa said some companies had started renovating their stands while ZAS is in the process of refurbishing some of its exhibition halls.
“We have installed bathrooms and toilets at Nelson Mandela Hall and the Hall of Commerce while working on the floors so that they are washable,” she said.

Last year, 266 farmers participated at the show but 320 have already confirmed their participation this year.
Mrs Muteyiwa said a number of companies that had not been exhibiting for more than five years are also back. These include local banks that have since booked stands.
