The City of Harare has directed its senior officials to review revenue collection strategies with focus on the first quarter in order to meet set targets.

In an interview, acting human capital director Mr Jabulani Duve said regional managers and directors made presentations at the event held at Golden Conifer in Mabelreign.

“We are happy to say most of the regions are performing exceptionally well above their targets,” he said.

“So they reviewed their strategies and also set the new targets for the coming quarter so they revised their strategies.”

Mr Duve said council is working towards the Minimum Service Delivery Standards especially the target on revenue collection which is 80 percent.

“We need to complement Government and we are saying we need to make sure that our revenue inflows are fully operational and they are efficient and we need to meet a target of 80 percent,” he said.

“Those who were below the targets, we implored them to review their strategies so that they can revise the same strategies and work towards the new revised targets of 80 percent.

“So now we said they should consolidate all their strategies, their work plans and their targets for the second quarter so that they can make submissions to the office of the strategy housed in the office of the town clerk for consolidation and report to the human capital resources and general purposes committee so that policy makers are also aware of how the technocrats are working towards the minimum service delivery standards.”

Mr Duve said middle managers are next week Friday are expected to sign their performance contracts.

“Then the supervisory grades 7 to 10 will sign their performance contracts mid May,” he said.
