BULAWAYO-based fast-rising gospel outfit Pastor Barak Music Family says its debut performance in Harare has opened doors to new relationships and opportunities that could propel the group’s music ministry to greater heights.
The ensemble performed at gospel musician Jonah Chivasa’s live recording and book launch, where they delivered a well-received performance while continuing the musical and spiritual legacy of the late Pastor Barak (Siphethangani Sibanda).
Group director Rachel Sibanda said the event exceeded their expectations, with the group achieving its main objective of expanding its reach beyond Bulawayo.
“We were warmly received and greatly appreciated for being part of the concert. It was an honour to minister alongside other gospel artistes, especially as a group travelling from outside Harare. The reception we received was encouraging and made the experience truly memorable,” she said.
Sibanda said the event’s greatest reward was the opportunity to establish valuable industry connections that could help grow the ministry.
“Our biggest takeaway was the chance to build new relationships and network with fellow artistes, promoters and other key people within the music industry. We believe these connections will open doors for future collaborations and contribute to the growth of our music ministry,” she said.
Looking ahead, Sibanda said the group is eager to collaborate with more gospel artistes while working on upcoming projects.
“As a group, we are focused on collaborating with other artistes as we continue to grow and expand our music ministry. We are also preparing for the second edition of The Continuing Influence Concert,” she said.
She added that the group’s next engagement will be Minister Simba’s concert in Bulawayo on September 19.
