Harare fans fall for Chigubhu

This is Chigubhu’s second performance at the club after a similar performance in December which earned him rave reviews. Other comedians set to feature include Doc Vikela, Q the Boss and Comrade Fatso.

In an interview Chigubhu said he had been invited back to perform at the club because of the performance that he had put up last time he was in the capital.

“I am back performing at the Bang Bang Club by public demand and I owe all this to the people in Harare who have requested to see me again live on stage. My performance last time was very good and I look forward to killing the crowd with laughter again,” he said.

Chigubhu said he found no difference between comedy lovers in Bulawayo and Harare as both equally appreciated his act. He said he was looking to start this year the same he had finished the last.

“I am more than happy with the reception I get from Harare audiences because they are just as warm and welcoming as the usual Bulawayo crowd that comes to comedy shows. The organisers of the show wanted me to step on their stage again because of the way I closed their show last year and this time I will again make sure not to disappoint,” he said.

Chigubhu said he was looking forward to sharing new material with the audience while at the same strengthening his reputation as one of the best stand up comedians in the country. He said he was also excited about getting the audience in the capital to chant his signature chant with him.

“I am very excited about the show because this is my opportunity to share new material with people in Harare. I look forward to having the audience chant ‘yeah yeah’, which is my signature chant everytime I make a punchline. I promise nothing less than fireworks for this show,” he said.
