Harare Man Caught with 14kgs Dagga

A 33-year-old man from Harare has been arraigned by the Harare Magistrates’ court for unlawful possession of drugs. Allegedly, the incident happened on 2 June 2025, at approximately 21:30 hours, Wobert Gumbo was observed by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department Drugs and Narcotics on Simone Road, Harare.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Gumbo was seen with two white socks, sitting on one and examining the contents of the other with his mobile phone’s light. The detectives, who were on routine highway patrol, approached Gumbo, identified themselves, and requested to search his sacks for dangerous drugs. They recovered fourteen 1-kilogram vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packets of dagga.

The accused person was arrested and transported with the recovered drugs to CID.
