Harare man loses two cars worth $US46k to Beitbridge duo

BEITBRIDGED police have arrested one of the two men from the border town who stole two cars from a Harare man worth a combined US$45 950 which they later sold.

The duo had pretended to be hiring the two vehicles.
Dickson Ndawana (42) was arrested on Monday and his accomplice Mlungisi Ndlovu is still on the run.
The two are accused of pretending to hire a South Africa registered Toyota Fortuner and South African Registered

Toyota Hilux which they later sold.
Ndawana was not asked to plead to a charge of theft of two motor vehicles when he briefly appeared before

Beitnbridge regional magistrate Ms Charity Maphosa.
He was remanded in custody to September 17 in the interim, while the police detectives are still pursuing Ndlovu.

Prosecuting, Mr Willbrought Muleya said on May 19, the two men misrepresented to the complainant that they were hiring the two vehicles for the purposes of carrying some goods at Manyame airbase in Harare.

After being given the vehicles they sold them and disappeared.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Ndawana on Monday in the border town.
