THE City of Harare has launched an online application and recruitment system for students seeking industrial attachment, marking the end of paper-based submissions.
In a statement, the city’s principal systems officer, Mr Mostard Mashiringo, said the digital platform allowed students to apply from anywhere at any time, eliminating the need for hard copy applications.
“The system not only streamlines the admission process, but also fosters a more efficient relationship with educational institutions reducing delays and improving transparency,” reads the statement.
City of Harare’s students coordinator, Mr Bruno Hlabanu, urged prospective applicants to visit the city’s official website — www.hararecity.co.zw — starting July 1, 2025, where they can follow step-by-step guidelines for submitting their applications.
Students will also be able to track the status of their applications in real time on the platform.
The move is part of the city’s broader digital transformation strategy and aligns with the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) recommendation for automating administrative systems to improve accountability, responsiveness and service delivery in student placement.
