HARDWORKING women who serve with humility are important players in their communities and country’s development process, Zanu PF Women’s League Secretary for Administration Cde Monica Mutsvangwa has said.

She was speaking during the ruling party’s Women’s League Manicaland provincial launch of the Covid-19 face masks programme at Mutare Showgrounds yesterday.

Cde Mutsvangwa, who is also the Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, said women are capable of delivering as shown by their successful face mask sewing project.

Zanu PF Women’s League Manicaland produced 26 000 face masks after receiving fabric from the party.

“This is commendable; it shows that you are hardworking. As women, you have played a significant role and contributed meaningfully in the fight against Covid-19. These enterprises can take our communities and country far in pursuit of Vision 2030.

“I applaud you for serving the party with humility as this is important in ensuring Zanu PF delivers on the promises made during the previous election. Let us also shun divisive tendencies and vote buying because that tears the party apart. We have to remain steadfast as party cadres and continue respecting our leadership at all levels,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.

Hard work and humility pay off, she added, saying Zanu PF Secretary for Women Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona had displayed these virtues which saw her diligently serve the party and Government with distinction in different capacities.

Cde Chinomona, who was once the Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Deputy Minister, is the Senate President.

Cde Mutsvangwa urged women in the province to take advantage of several economic empowerment programmes being implemented by Government as these benefit them.
