Hardbody ready to buy players

The Gweru-based side lies 13th on the log standings having managed three wins and a draw in 11 matches so far this season.

They are looking to add five players to the team.

The news comes amid reports in the Watosvorwa camp that some of the team’s players who include exciting midfield Richard Jongwe might be leaving the Gweru outfit.

Tavaka Gumbo could not reveal the names of players who are likely to join the team.

“We have so far identified five players we are going to sign up during the transfer window but I cannot reveal their names because it might jeopardise negotiations,” Gumbo said.

The former national team midfielder, Gumbo said he will be adding two defenders, a midfielder and two strikers to reinforce his squad which has been playing some of the best football in the league although that has not translated into positive results.

The team’s weakest link has been an impotent attack which has only managed to score a paltry nine goals in the league while the defence has let in 15 goals, eight having been conceded in two matches — a 0-3 loss to Dynamos in the season opener and a 3-5 defeat to Highlanders in their third match of the season.
