HARDROCK chairperson , Wellington Mpandare has revealed that the club is carrying out investigations to ascertain if their chief executive officer, Kudzanai Hove was among the violent protestors at Chahwanda stadium on Sunday.
A viral video that has gone viral on social media captures a man suspected to be Hove stomping on the head of a helpless Dynamos supporter.
On Sunday, several people were seriously injured after violence erupted in the aftermath of a Hardrock equalizer against Dynamos in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match.
Fans invaded the pitch and violent clashes ensued resulting in the match being abandoned.
But it seems it has come at a cost for Hardrock as their CEO has been dragged into the mud over the violence.
Mpandare told the Zimpapers Sports Hub that the club is carrying out investigations on the matter.
“It is premature for me to comment at this stage, we are still carrying out investigations, ZIFA as well as the PSL are also carrying out investigations, the security services are also doing their part,” he said.
However, this publication understands that the club has been engaged in a series of meetings on Monday as they seek to douse the fire that has engulfed their camp.
The ZRP is yet to ascertain the number of people injured and those arrested in the clashes.
