Hardrock chairman Wellington Mupandare says the club will continue to strengthen its squad if the right players become available as they are determined to mount a sustained title challenge.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu’s side have been one of the busiest clubs during the mid-season transfer window, adding Warriors striker Prince Dube, and defender Gerald Takwara, Malawian-based defender McDonald Rameck and Eswatini duo Thubelihle Mavuso and Yekisizwe Khumalo.

Despite the high-profile recruitment drive, Mupandare insists the club’s business may not be finished.

“If there is another top-quality player out there and if our coaches want him, we will go for him. We have a very supportive president (Shepherd Chahwanda),” Mupandare told Zimpapers Sports Hub.

Hardrock continue to exceed expectations in their debut top-flight campaign.
Second on the table with 39 points from 20 matches, Hardrock have a game in hand.

and are second on leaders Scottland, who have collected 46 points from 21 outings.

Victory in that outstanding fixture which is set to be played on Thursday for the remaining 14 minutes of their abandoned match against Dynamos would significantly strengthen their push for the championship.

Then on Sunday Hardrock will shift focus to fourth-placed Herentals at Rufaro.

Mupandare believes the club’s ability to attract established players lies beyond financial considerations, pointing instead to the professional environment the club has built.

“It’s the organisation, infrastructure and professional way of doing things. After doing a tour of our facilities no one can say no,” he said.

“There are few clubs that own stadiums in Africa. Even all the South African clubs don’t have stadiums of their own.”

Hardrock’s investment in infrastructure has been matched by its willingness to strengthen the playing squad, with the latest arrivals adding experience, quality and depth across all departments.
