After a few years in the wilderness, one of the cityas most promising bands, the Harmonic Rhythms is looking to make a comeback as they seek to reclaim their position as one of the cityas best musical exponents.
A few years ago the four-man group, with talented singer Prosper Ndebele as the frontman, captured the imagination of many music lovers with their mixture of rich instrumentals and vocals, complemented by their exquisite taste in fashion which had seen them labelled the best dressed group on the local circuit by the fashion savvy.
All hope seemed lost when Ndebele left the group, as the group suddenly moved in different directions as the demands of life weighed down their artistic output.
a?Prosper Ndebele was travelling trying to get links and connections in the region but he is back now. Nkosiphile Sibanda our keyboardist got married and moved to Swaziland while Kelvin Bvunzawabaya our bassist and I have been around pushing the music while also doing our full timeA jobs,a? said the groupas drummer Lungile Ndlovu.
With their comeback in mind, the group had already released a single while they were eyeing even more releases soon.
He also said that the group would not be abandoning its suave image which had grown to become as much of an attraction as their music.
a?We are trying get back on track and get our name out to the public and our main focus right now is on perfecting our live act and branding. We were the most fashionable band in town and weare working on retaining that title while pushing ourselves even further.
a?Our future plans are to release good afro soul tracks that can last for generations to come and hopefully pioneer a Bulawayo sound that everyone can relate to and export our product worldwide,a? he said.
