Harnessing the power of words

“DEATH and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21.

As we find ourselves in the final month of 2024, let us take a moment to reflect on the year that is coming to a close. Let us start by thinking deeply about God’s faithfulness throughout the year. For many of us, the start of 2024 brought a renewed sense of purpose and we were determined to achieve the resolutions or goals that we listed.

Some of us have seen these resolutions being fulfilled, while others may feel a sense of disappointment or unmet expectations.

However, let us not be discouraged, for each experience has shaped us and brought us closer to the people God has called us to be.

As the Psalmist declares in Psalm 100:4-5, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his inner courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”

Despite the challenges and uncertainties we may have faced, we have much to be grateful for.

God’s faithfulness has been ever-present and His blessings have abounded in our lives.

With grateful hearts, we remember God’s provision.

Even in the midst of trials and uncertainties, God has been our provider and sustainer. Throughout the year, we have lifted our voices in prayer, petitioning God for His intervention and blessings. Time and again, we have witnessed the power of answered prayer.

Now, as we look ahead to the year 2025, we do so with hearts filled with gratitude and expectation.

We declare that, just as God has been faithful in the past, He will continue to be our guide and provider in days to come.

We prophesy that the blessings and breakthroughs we have longed for will come to pass, as we align our words and actions with His perfect will.

As the Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”

So, let us now lift our voices in bold declaration, speaking life and victory over 2025.

Let us prepare for the coming year ahead of time.

Let us call forth the fulfilment of our resolutions and realisation of our dreams before the new year, knowing that our words have the power to shape the future.

We serve a God who is good, whose love endures forever and whose faithfulness extends to all generations. We have the incredible ability to create the events of 2025 through the power of our words.

By speaking intentional declarations and prophecies, we can load 2025 with what we would like to see happening and actively determine the outcome of the year. December is a month of speaking to our 2025.
