CAPS United coach Mark Harrison began his Premiership journey yesterday when he took the team through their paces at Reserve Bank Sports Club cognisant of a busy schedule ahead.Harrison was unveiled as the new CAPS United coach last month but the Englishman arrived in the country at the weekend to begin his official duties. The experienced coach missed the first month of the club’s preparations which were conducted by his assistants Brenna Msiska and Fungai “Tostao” Kwashi.
“It’s good to be here. It’s been a long wait, that’s for sure. We have to catch up with the rest of the teams. I looked at the squad and I think we have a lot of work to do.
“We are probably at 20 percent at the moment and we have to get to 100 percent as quick as we can. But we will get there. I saw we have a lot of talent here and we just have got to mould it together and I am sure by the time we come to kick off, we will be in a lot better shape than we are now.
“I guarantee you in three to four weeks we will be looking decent. Obviously, it’s a process and as the season moves forward we will get better and better. That’s for sure,” said Harrison.
Most of the teams have submitted their provisional lists with PSL for the new season.
And yesterday it emerged that the Green Machine had sought for more time so that their new coach will have an opportunity to look at all the players before coming up with the final squad.
But the coach, who had a three-hour technical meeting when he arrived, has already said he would want to have a look at all the players personally and no one is guaranteed of a place at the club.
