ZIFA Eastern Region Division One log leaders Hartley Academy gaffer Taku Shariwa is optimistic that his charges can maintain their fine run to achieve Premiership promotion. The former Hippo Valley mentor is bubbling with confidence ahead of his teams’ clash against fifth placed Masvingo City Dortmund this weekend in Masvingo.
Hartley Academy are currently the log leaders with 56 points off 27 starts. Last weekend they clobbered out of sorts Tenax FC 5-0. Shariwa believes that he has what it takes to win the match against Masvingo City Dortmund and maintain top spot.
“I am very confident that my team will prevail against Masvingo City Dortmund. I am very happy with the players that I have and we are treating this game as an ordinary game, there is nothing special about Masvingo City Dortmund,” he said.
Shariwa believes that Hartley will gain promotion if they maintain their form. “It is a journey but I am optimistic. We have been on top of the log for four months now and we need to win all our remaining matches in order for us to achieve Premiership promotion,” he said.
Meanwhile, second placed Mutare City Rovers coach Kenny ‘Bokande’ Kachara is also confident that his team will win all their remaining matches. City Rovers are only two points behind log leaders.
“We are going to win all our remaining matches and the league race is still wide open since no team has been confirmed to be promoted as yet. Last year we missed by a whisker but it is now history and water under the bridge. Don’t count us out as yet,” said Bokande.
