A MARRIED woman said her husband returns home after every three months to demand sex.
Pamela Tayenzerwa told the Harare Civil Court yesterday that her husband, Takunda Tayenzerwa, is in the habit of verbally and physically abusing her, and applied for a protection order against him.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted her the protection order, and ordered him not to sexually abuse, harass or harm his wife.
“Your Worship, my husband abuses me left, right and centre. He can even go away for about three months ozouya achindimanikidza bonde, chasara kufa.
“He takes my money, national identity card and only gives me back after I report to the police.
“He takes food that I would have gotten from my relatives and threatens to strike me with an axe one day,” said Pamela.
In his defence, Takunda denied the accusations and said his wife is the one who misbehaves.
“She is lying about everything; she is jealousy of my second wife. I never threatened to axe her or even forced her to have sex with me.
“Akaramba ndotozvirariwo ndega,” said Takunda.
