‘He gambles with my money’

A Harare woman exposed her boyfriend in court as a hopeless gambler who squanders her money on gambling.

Agnes Mutama told magistrate Tamara Chibindi that her boyfriend, Tafadzwa Mhosva, also physically abuses and harasses her in an application for a protection order against him.

Magistrate Chibindi granted the protection order and warned Tafadzwa against insulting or assaulting Agnes.

“He takes my property and sells it and takes my money to gamble. He forces his way into my house when I am not around.

“Recently he assaulted me and as we speak I am seeking medical attention,” she said.

Tafadzwa did not oppose the application.

“I really love my girlfriend so much, and l do not wish to insult or harass her. All these problems started when her relatives came.

“I rent a house for her, and her relatives came to stay with her. Now, they want her to chase me away from the house.

“The day we ended up fighting, I was just trying to correct things in my house as a man who truly loves his girlfriend.”
