A HARARE woman says her ex-husband has never bought a pen or even a pencil for his son in the last two years.

Faith Chabata told the court that Steven Marowa last paid school fees for his son in 2021.

Steven is believed to be a soldier.

“He last paid school fees for our son in 2021 and has never even bought a pen or pencil since then.

“Our son doesn’t know his father because Steven doesn’t visit him,” she said.

Faith was demanding US$100 a month in maintenance.

Steven denied the claims and offered to pay US$30.

“I’m a civil servant, and my salary is not a secret, but I have been paying fees all along.

“I even have receipts to prove it.

“She is of a violent nature and harasses me in front of my co-workers,” he said.

Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Steven to pay US$40 or equivalent and fees directly to the school.
