A MAN has been taken to court by his ex-wife demanding US$240 for the upkeep of their two children and accusing him of ignoring her calls.
Moline Vheremu told the court that she wanted US$240 from Lazarus Muhemba.
“I am here because he is ignoring my calls and neglecting his duties as a father.
“Our kids are aged 11, 13 years and require a lot of things, especially for school, food.
“l will take care of the rest,” she told the court.
In response, Lazarus said he doesn’t work and can’t afford his ex-girlfriend’s demands.
“I am offering $40 000, plus half of the school fees. I also have to pay rent and take care of my other three kids.”
Moline rejected his offer.
However, magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini granted Moline $45 000 and ordered Lazarus to pay fees directly to the school and clothes three times a year.
